What can I get with dental insurance cover?
For a fixed monthly cost, Bupa dental cover will give you cash-back towards your routine and restorative dental treatment, whether NHS or private. You’ll also be covered for emergency treatment, dental injuries, orthodontic treatment and oral cancer.
You get worldwide cover* from day one, including convenient support via phone, video or face-to-face.
*Worldwide cover excludes orthodontic treatment, oral cancer treatment, and cash benefit for a hospital stay.

What cover is right for me?
Bupa dental insurance has five levels of cover for you to choose from. Your monthly premium and amount you can claim towards the cost of your treatment depends on the level of cover you choose. Bupa will pay cash-back towards dental treatment up to your benefit limits.

How does it work?
- Select a level of cover using the benefit selection form
- You’ll receive a welcome email shortly after the policy start date which asks you to set up a Bupa Touch online account. The Bupa Digital Services team, who are happy to assist you with setting up your Bupa Touch account, can be contacted at 0161 497 0597. Bupa Touch is where you will be able to access your membership documents.
- Take advantage of your dental cover benefits and start making claims as listed on your policy

Which dentist can I use?
You are free to stick with your own Dentist, or you can choose a Dentist in the Bupa Dental Insurance Network. Choosing a dentist in the Bupa network not only gives you the added reassurance that You’re visiting a practice that meets Bupa's strict quality standards, you’ll also benefit from up to 20% discount on general dental treatments in selected branches. The choice is yours. Please note, you must inform the Dentist that you have Bupa Dental Insurance and provide your Membership Number when booking to benefit from this discount offer. If you choose not to go to a Bupa Dental Centre, then Bupa have an online claims portal or a postal claim form.
Any support a member may need, in knowing how to use their Dental Plan, best practice, where they can attend and what they can claim for, there is a dedicated Dental Member Services Team who can be contacted on 0800 237 7777. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm. If you have a question, you can call Member Services for support.
How do I find a Bupa dentist?
You can stay with your current dentist or see any dentist you like. You can choose from hundreds of Bupa dentists by using the Bupa dentist finder to locate one that works for you.
Use a practice in the Bupa Dental Insurance Network, advise them that you're a Bupa UK dental insurance customer, and benefit from:
- instant claiming – at participating Bupa practices, claim instantly at the reception desk, make sure you submit a claim form
- up to 20% discounts on treatments when using participating Bupa practices when you tell your dentist that you have Bupa dental insurance
- trusted expertise with CQC accredited clinicians
How can I purchase this for my spouse/partner or children?
Complete the details for your spouse/partner and children on the benefit selection form. You can add your family members at the same time as you select this benefit for yourself or during the enrolment window which is open each year in September.
Your children are covered up to the renewal following their 24th birthday. Parents, siblings and other family members are not eligible to be covered under the scheme.
You’re able to change your level of cover, and/or add family members, during the annual enrolment window.
Can I cancel or amend my cover?
Complete and submit a benefit selection form to cancel or amend your dental insurance. Due to the nature of this benefit, cancellation or amendment is only possible if you experience a life event (examples below), or at the end of the policy year during the annual enrolment window in September.
Life events include:
- Birth or adoption of child
- Marriage or civil partnership
- Divorce or dissolution of civil partnership
- Death of spouse, partner, or dependent child
- Significant salary change
What happens if I leave NTU before the end of the cover year?
Your cover will remain in place until the last day of the month in which you leave.

**Single parent cover includes the main member and any eligible dependent children up to the age of 24. Family cover includes the main member, partner, and any eligible dependent children up to the age of 24. There is no limit to the number of eligible dependents. The cover for any child added as a child dependant will end at the next annual renewal date following their 24th birthday.
