The Life Assurance benefit is a type of insurance, also known as 'Death in Service' cover.
How does the Life Assurance benefit work?
If you die, the benefit pays out a lump sum to your beneficiaries based on a multiple of your salary.
For your beneficiaries to receive this benefit, you must be employed by NTU at the time of your death. If you leave for any reason, you will no longer be covered.
How do I nominate my beneficiaries?
If you are eligible for the Life Assurance benefit, a form will be added to your record in MyHR. You will receive an email when the form is added to your profile and ready to complete.
If you are a member of LGPS, TPS, or USS, and, are not in a management* or professorial pay grade, you will receive a death grant nomination form provided by the applicable pension fund.
*Professional and Managerial (PM), Deputy Heads of Academic Departments, Heads of Academic Departments, Academic and Support Heads, Executive Deans and Senior Executives
