Important information about your cover
Restrictions apply to hospital related claims for pre-existing conditions.
Please disregard any references to a 13 week qualifying period contained in standard documentation. The University has negotiated for this qualifying period to be waived and benefit will commence immediately cover is provided, except for hospital and maternity claims.
Should you wish to transfer to a higher premium, for the first 13 weeks following transfer, benefits are restricted to those that would have been payable under your previous cover level (this includes treatment that commences within this period irrespective of the duration of treatment). Transfer to a lower premium is not usually possible.

How do I make a claim?

95% of claims are settled by BHSF within three working days as long as all requisite documentation has been provided by you, and cash back received is paid directly into your bank account.

How do I add my partner or children to the cover?
To purchase an assessment for your partner, spouse or children, complete their details on the benefit selection form. Once your application is processed, BHSF will send you an information pack and a claim form by the 20th of the month. However, claims can be made for treatment received from the 1st of the month (you will need to save your receipts in order to claim).
What happens if I leave NTU before the end of the cover year?
Your cover will remain in place until the last day of the month in which you leave.
Can I cancel my cover?
Complete and submit a benefit selection form to cancel your health cash plan.
Can I amend my cover?
Complete and submit a benefit selection form with your new details.
