Free Eye Tests
If you use a visual display screen for a part of your day, you are eligible to apply for an eye care voucher from our approved suppliers, Specsavers.
- You can apply for a voucher once every two years.
- Your voucher will be issued by Specsavers and can only be used at Specsavers' branches.
- Your voucher will provide you with a free eye test and a free pair of glasses from Specsavers' basic range, worth £49, to include lenses for your computer use prescription.
NTU will not cover the cost of a more complex prescription, bi focal or varifocal lenses or additional treatment to your lenses such as anti-reflection, scratch resistant coatings or tints. If you opt for these, you will need to cover any extra cost.
If you choose from Specsavers' more expensive ranges of frames, your voucher will cover the first £49 of the cost only. You will be required to meet any additional cost.
The University is not able to assist toward the cost of eye tests or glasses already booked or paid for, or from other opticians.
