
Family Leave and Family Friendly Policies

Adoption Leave - Up to 52 weeks leave with at least 18 weeks full pay irrespective of earnings or service.
Carers Leave - Up to one working week in any 12-month rolling period can be taken as a block or in half-day bookings.
Neonatal Leave - You can take one week's neonatal care leave for every week your child spends in neonatal care up to twelve weeks when your child receives neonatal medical care, palliative or end-of-life care commencing within 28 days of their birth
Parental Leave - You are entitled to up to 18 weeks’ unpaid parental leave for each child, up until the child’s 18th birthday.
Paternity Leave - Irrespective of your service with the University, you will be entitled to three weeks’ paid leave. Which can be taken in a single or multiple blocks of at least a week (starting on any day of the week)
Maternity Leave - Occupational Maternity Pay (OMP) of 18 weeks’ contractual pay is payable, irrespective of your service or earnings. From 26 weeks' service: Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
Career breaks - Take 3-12 months of unpaid leave for caring responsibilities related to children or dependents.
